Hotel Group strikes Accord with Chinese market

first_imgAccor Hotel group will be the first hotel in Australia to introduce an accredited “Optimum Service Standards” program specifically aimed for the inbound China market.The program has been specially designed to cater for the needs of Chinese guests offering services which include Chinese speaking reception and concierge staff, Chinese preferred breakfast menus and Chinese TV channels and newspapers.Accor Hotel group will introduce the new China “Optimum Service Standards” initially to 10 – 15 of their largest hotels located in cities that traditionally attract large numbers of Chinese visitors.According to the Tourism Forecasting Council, China is predicted to become Australia’s second largest market behind New Zealand by 2018.In 2010, Accor’s Hotels recorded a 28.6 per cent increase in Chinese business compared to 2009, and the forecast for 2011 is expected to be similar.“The China market is one of the most promising for Australia’s tourism future, and so it is essential that we provide the highest possible level of facilities and service when they visit Australia,” Accor Hotel vice president Simon McGrath said.Mr McGrath said that offering this specialty program for Chinese tourists is ‘long overdue’ and he expressed the importance of ensuring whilst they are staying in the Accor hotels that they have access to services such as communication and food preferences to ensure they have a comfortable experience.The Accor Accreditation Program for Chinese Visitation and Service program will be fully accredited by an approved Chinese external organisation and is scheduled for introduction over the next few weeks.
