Harsh Vardhan denies plans to demolish unauthorised colonies

first_imgNew Delhi: BJP’s Chandni Chowk candidate Harsh Vardhan on Thursday categorically denied charges that his party had hatched large-scale plans to demolish unauthorised colonies in Delhi. The Cabinet Minister said that the Aam Aadmi Party had made these allegations to frighten a large section of the Capital’s voting population residing in unauthorised colonies.Vardhan went on to say that the allegations are baseless and have no merit whatsoever, clarifying that neither the BJP nor the Central government has any such plans. He said the Narendra Modi government is committed to providing “pucca houses” for all homeless families by 2022. He said, “It is the height of falsehood that Kejriwal in his statement claimed that Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari has admitted about the demolition of unauthorised colonies. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol staged a road show from Hari Nagar to Subhash Nagar for the West Delhi Candidate Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma and appealed to vote for him. At some points, traffic had to be diverted in view of a large number of people participating in the Road Show. During the Road Show, people were raising slogans “Modi Dil Se-Pravesh Verma Fir Se”. With the slogan Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai, Delhi Chale Modi Ke Saath, film star Sunny Deol launched another road show from 100 feet Chhatarpur Road in support of South Delhi Candidate Ramesh Bidhuri. The actor also staged road show from Ramdev Chowk to Bawana Chowk in support of North West Delhi Candidate Hansraj Hans.last_img
