After the Pulwama terror attack by Pakistani terrorists on February 14, India responded with air strikes at Balakot on February 26.In the meanwhile, the fear entered the artistic realm and Pakistani artistes were banned from working in the Indian film industry.Actors like Ajay Devgn announced that they would not release their films in neighbouring countries. Indian films were banned in Pakistan.Speaking about this at India Today Conclave 2019, popular lyricist and Central Board of Film Certification Chief Prasoon Joshi said, “Art is pure. But artistes also have the responsibility to keep art pure. If artistes choose to stay away from politics, they should stay away from politics. But some of them don’t do that. They speak about politics. And when the politics is going against them, they complain. It shouldn’t be about politics. If you remove convenience from it, they should stay in that world of art.”Earlier, Gully Boy actor Ranveer Singh had similar sentiments to echo about the subject at his India Today Conclave 2019 session. “Us as artists and sportsmen, we are not sacrificing the same way that some of our compatriots are. Art and sports are different realms. The boundaries should be different. But we are not sacrificing the way some of our compatriots are. If there’s even one mother of a soldier who believes that we shouldn’t engage, we should follow that,” he said.ALSO SEE | Prasoon Joshi on PM Narendra Modi reciting his poem after Pulwama attack: I felt honouredadvertisementWATCH | Khoon Chala to Bharat: Prasoon Joshi recites his famous works at Conclave 2019Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
